The best ab belt out there work with Electric Muscle Stimulation, EMS, technology. This means, according to http://www.flattenstomach.com that the belts send electric signals to your abdominal muscles in order to cause them to contract and release. This cycle of contraction and release is supposed to replicate a physical abdominal exercise. But as you’ve seen on TV, an abs belt is supposed to do the work for you without requiring you to spend any effort. In fact, any abs belts promise abdominal workouts while you’re doing chores, sitting at your desk, or taking a walk. Despite the similarity between most of these products, there can be important differences.

The Flex Belt, for example, is an FDA-cleared EMS belt that uses medical-grade gel pads for the transmission of the signal. The company’s web presentation does not promise stomach fat loss or inch loss, but rather says the Flex Belt won’t help at all with these challenges. You can read more about what it can do on the official site http://www.theflexbelt.com. Weight loss and trimming are up to the user to accomplish with regular exercise and a balanced lose stomach fat diet. Your average abs belt as seen on TV won’t require this much of you, but then again, it probably won’t deliver results either.

The Flex Belt is not the only product of its kind, to be sure. But we appreciated the company’s approach and found it to be useful in sorting through all the other potential abs belts on the market. So anybody have any exercises to lose weight in your stomach that work? I have seen ab belts on television when I m watching late night and though I m skeptical I kind of want one. It seems to really work. I have been trying to diet but it is hard and I cant yet find an exercise I like to do and want to. tried the malibu pilates thing but it was not fr me…

  2. Natasha Says:

Which abs belt as Seen on TV is this photo supposed to be? I don’t see her wearing wearing any belt!

  3. Jessie Says:

well IMO the ones that promise the moon & stars should not be trusted. some of the abbelts as seen on TV say they melt away fat and inches etc. I DONT THINK THIS IS ACURATE. from all of the stuff i have beenr eading lately, even the best ab belt is for toning not weight loss!

  4. Candace@thebeach Says:

Yeah, how come it looks like she’s jogging with weights? Sure looks fit, but is it from an abs belt or not? how can we tell?

  5. Fiona Says:

The photograph above does not seem to be of an ab belt.

  6. Drew Says:

Never really knew what to make of these abs belts i’ve seen on TV, they all sorta looked too good to be true. And maybe some are though it’d be nice to know an a belt could provide fat or inch loss. i think theres more to the flex belt one maybe will look into more ab belt reviews just to see how it compares for most people.

  7. Linda_lately Says:

well now i dont think the pic has to totaly reflect exxctly what the review is saying, does it? jeez, this is a tough crowd. The review has the information, i am gonna look to that to learn waht i need 2 knwo.

  8. Jerome998 Says:

These abs belts I’m seeing on tv? Mostly for chicks? I think I’d feel kinda weird wearing one of these like I shuld have on a tuxedo or something, I dunno, seems to work pretty good I guess.

  9. julie Says:

maybe it just an example of the kind of ab workout informecials seen on tv. not all use abs belts.

  10. DerbyGrrl Says:

I cannot weight to get serious about getting skinny I def want an ab machine or ab belt not sure which but I def want the technology so I have to lose some inches I would expect. I hate dieting. want to lose without deprivation.

  11. Wendy Says:

How does the flex belt feel like when you use it?? And it is considered an “as seen on TV” abs belt? I am just curious about all these tummy belt .

  12. Favorito Says:

Think maybe those infomercials about ab belts that are on tv do a touch of exaggerating, I don’t see how something that just sort of shocks you can work, seems like a Vibro belt might work better for that, Kind of undecided right now.

  13. Michael Says:

I dont even care what she uses on her abs she is gorgeous.
however i do want to find something to get a 6 pack. so regretably i guess i will scroll down to the review. ;(

  14. CHLOE Says:

Are all of the Abs Belt As Seen On TV at least somewhat effective an d do they ALL use EMS technology?? i never heard a this before but sounds cool.

  15. Ted Says:

Where do u get the Flex Belt w/the FDA clearance and the EMS? DOnt think i saw that ab belt on tV

  16. Paul Says:

Who buys stuff they’ve seen on TV anymore!!!! NOT ME!

  17. MeaghanFrawley Says:

What’s gonna tone me faster, a Contour abs belt I saw, or that Cardio Twister? I know it’s kinda different way s to go with exrcise, but that belt sure seems easy…

  18. Nila Says:

all the ab belts on tv seem ok but how do know whc one I will like the best?! I have to test one out. where can I do that?!

  19. ChickaDee Says:

Want to get slim, trim and racy, so does everything I see on TV! What about that Malibu Pilates chair, looks like a good workout, but isn’t it kinda big for a one bedroom apartment? Maybe I’m better off with one of those ab belts, at least I can just put that away in a drawer.

  20. Lockerbie Says:

Ok but how about a Vibro Belt, that one sounds cool like it will melt away the stomach fat & u dont have to do cardio! wow. if that is true that is all i will need. i wonder if u go on a diet too will u get super super skinny? sounds SO much better than other stuff like ab roller, blah./

  21. VictoriaMalone Says:

I don’t know why anybody would diss t.v. purchases, half my clothes and some jewelry that matches are all off HSN, can’t beat ‘em for price and style, so what’s wrong with geting an abs belt as seen on tv, seems like a great way to shop to me!

  22. harry Says:

you mean thats a photo not a video? i was hopin to watch her workout, i saw a sweet Abs Belts video that help s me understand the technology better. i seen it online not on tv btw.

  23. ellyn Says:

yeah but ok dont go picking on ppl who buy “As Seen On TV products sometimes theuy actually sell those in stores FYI. so why not? if i want to try an abs belt as seen on TV it doesn’t make me any different than someone hwho buys an ab belt from any place else.

    PS I LOVE my Snuggie!

  24. Tim_H Says:

What do you guys know about the Contour Corebelt and is it betetr than using the ab roller if I want to get a 6 pack?

  25. chuck Says:

not sure about the ab belt u just mention but i bet any ab belt would be better than a simple ab roller. that thing is like a dinasour.

  26. Leon Says:

Want to try an abs belt to get that final definition, guy at the gym says it works great, and he looks it…best ad those belts could have, why don’t I look like him?

  27. Liz Says:

the ab belt is seeming like a good way to tone your abs while you are busy. I think it sounds like a neat idea! I love to watch informericals and would love to achieve this body type – strong abs and sexy muscles in my core.

  28. SuperSizeMe Says:

That’s what I feel’s happened to me and I swear I don’t eat that much, it’s all of a sudden getting a little older I think, and not paying attention to how fast I was gaining weight until now it’s UH OH, gotta do something about this belly, maybe that Contour Abs belt I see all the time would help, and some major dieting, of course…

  29. nick Says:

are there gyms that have abs belt in them? that would be great u could have access to one while ur there, get sick definition while ur doing ur lifts. only troubloe wld be trying to get a clean one thats not sweaty
lol maybbe its easirer to just buy your own. i didnt think it thru./

  30. JennyMay Says:

Could be that one of those tv ab belts could help you lose weight, but sure not gonna be the whole deal, have to take the responsibility to diet and exercise, what a drag, I know, but yu gotta do what you gotta do..

  31. lena Says:

Well IMO (and based on what i have read in REPULTABLE PLACES) the only way a ab belt can make u loose weight is if your exercising while your wearing it.
IT IS FOR TONING!!!! the good companies say that right upfront.

  32. QuantumLeap Says:

I guess that this EMS technology has really made a big difference in the exercise world, those ab belts I see on tv that use that? Amazing, results really fast, looks easy, way better than the endless and boring crunch routine I’ve been doing…time to catch up to the modern world!

  33. Daniella Says:

OOOHHHH, so THAT’S the fine print on these tv ab belts, you only lose weight with them if you’re exercising! Does it have to be at the same time, like running while you wear one? Ibet that would actually work really good, thx for the info.

  34. EthanJimmy Says:

so what are these ab belts all about really?! I have read reviews and comments but I m not sure if it will be good for me. I like to workout when I do but when I dont I get lazy and heavy so I think this could stop the beer belly but I m not sure which ab machine is the one I will use.

  35. HoneyCrumpett Says:

My whole family has kind of a weight problem, how old do you have to be to use one of these ab belts I’ve been seeing on tv?

  36. shel Says:

a two for one ab workout sound great run with an ab belt cool

  37. cassandra@campground Says:

NO i do not think the carido and ab toning has to be done @ the same time. i think ppl just do that to save time. but seems to me that just like in any situation getting that “perfect body” is about a combo of cardio, toning, and diet. so if u have these 3 elements it prollyu does not matter how you arrange them.

  38. Alex Says:

I’v only seen the contour ab on TV and I thought it looked too big to be running with. I didn’t like it. WIll check out the other abs belt online.

  39. LoonieTunes Says:

It’s driving me nuts not to know which EMS belt to buy, anybody have any clear advice, a definitive answer?

  40. Brenda Says:

FLEX BELT! This site loves it http://www.howtogetaflatbelly.com

  41. Emmett Says:

I hate crunches and wanted an alternative so I tried to find reviews of the ab belts I saw on late nite tv and theres good info on the tech and I think I iwll use them in my workouts.

  42. lynette Says:

Yeah i do think some are more portable than others & seems like the remote on the Contour abs is kind of big. going to keep reading the ab belt reviews. No need to only focus on abs belts as seen on TV, there are lots out there.

  43. Deana Says:

I say just get an abs belt with EMS that has a 30 days return policy! That’s my advice and that’s what i will do.

  44. dotty Says:

well what is the best money back guarantee u can get for an abbelt as seen on TV? i dont want to be stuck with something i dont like. thx

  45. CarumbaCity Says:

Abs belts are all over tv these days, but somebody said they hadn’t seen an infomercial for the flex belt, and I guess I haven’t either, really want to find out about that one, guess I just google it?

  46. angela cipnek Says:

i would say as far as abbelts go you dont just want the abbelt as seen on TV you want one that has good buzz online good revicews, ppl are talking about it. TESTIMONIALS say a lot for me. as does FACT about the type of tehcnology used.

  47. DolinaEaves Says:

Can you believe I can’t stay up long enough to watch any infomercials and so what you guys are talking about? I guess I’m not really sure! Maybe I’ll take a nap today so I can catch up, see what all this ab belt talk is about, I’ve only seen the early morning ads for things like real estate in Nevada…

  48. CarlosSlime Says:

I think using an ab belt is a cop out I just do like a thousand crunches and I am awesome.

  49. Rima Says:

I looked for an as seen on TV abs belt at CVS and they didn’t have it!!! I did see the ab rocket at brookstone but didn’t get it, it looks like u have to be advance already. Not sure what to get for my abs now. The flex belt is online only right?

  50. darla_PlanoTx Says:

OK what about the ab belt that says it give u a workout that equals 500 situps?? To me that sounds super awsome! 1,ooo crunches sounds mentally ill, sorry

  51. NickiNoNo Says:

Could it be that all ab belts are NOT created equal??? That’s sure the feeling i”m getting from watching infomercials on tv and then looking up some of these belts on google, I think you really DO get what you pay for in the case of these EMS belts, so far I’m neck and neck between contour abs and flex, have to decide by this weekend. That’s my deadline I’ve set for myself, otherwise I won’t EVER decide!

  52. BrandiAlexander Says:

Yeah, my parents had a real sense of humor, it’s ok, you can laugh…I’m used to it. But what I really want to know is about those tv ab belts, do they really do what they say without diet and exercise? If that’s so, then I think I’m gonna have to have one, does it matter which kind?

  53. zelda Says:

This site likes it too http://www.bellyexercise.com and i am leaning toward the flex belt bcs it does look lighter & more portable.

  54. CurrentlyFat Says:

I didn’t always used to be overweight, but now, not so good, maybe it’s those birthday’s finally catching up, whatever, I want to look at myself and recognize whoever that is in the mirror, would an ab belt help a lot, or do I have to go for something more strenuous like a Malibu Pilates Chair?

  55. ICouldCry Says:

that’s how bad I feel about myself, esp when I look at myself sideways or I see a pic somebody took of me when I wasn’t paying attention, and there’s my stomach, looking like a barrel, how ridiculous is this to be so lumpy when I’m not even all that old, so Flex Belt, like the review said, and South Beach, like I said, gotta do it! I need to lose fat stomach ASAP.

  56. CharliePerner Says:

From what i was reading Vibro belt does not seem to “Melt fat” despite its claims to that effect. FYI.

  57. Natasha Says:

I hear that breast feeding is a wonderful fat burner, do you do that? It’s it a long process to get rid of a belly after a pregnancy and i hear you have to go very gently and slowly. I think an ab belt is a good idea for that because you can adjust the level progressively as your abs are slowly getting stronger with time. Maybe try that! Yoga is good too. I would stay away from the ab Rocket and other devices that mimic crunches though, don’t think it’s safe post pregnancy.

  58. DianeWinn Says:

I would live to get slim this summer I m getting an ab coaster which I saw on tv and looks interesting and easy to use!

  59. gina Says:

speaking of as seen on TV what about the malibu pilates chair? seems like a good way for a beginner to learn the basics of pilates without having to take a class outside the home. on the con side, i did read that it is a large apparatus and sometimse the parts do break. anyone with a personal story on this? THX

  60. Lainie909 Says:

Breast feeding is a great way to get your tummy down, for sure, and an ab belt like what’s on tv right now is fine too, but I think you have to wait at least a month to use one, maybe 6 weeks is better, google ab Flex Belt and find out for sure.

  61. ONEthingatatime Says:

I can’t diet AND exercise, only can handle one or the other, so how should I start out to lose some pounds, like quite a few of them actually, I’m thinkng diet, then an ab belt I’ve seen on tv for exercise once some of the fat belly I have is gone.

  62. Natasha Says:

I’m not so sure about the abs belts on tv, but I sure like the looks of that Cardio Twister, anybody try one?

  63. Franny Says:

Did you guys know that I READ Nichole Kidman didn’t actually have the baby herself? That explain her flat flat abs just after the supposedly pregnancy! Way to make “regular” moms feel bad!! I know some people make fun of as seen on TV devices but I say better use an abs belt than not doing anything!!

  64. amy Says:

ok but does breast feeding actually TONE the abs?? either way sounds like a bad reason to have a kid.
Maybe i will just go right ahead and try the ab belt.

  65. ChickaChicka Says:

Why is there so much tummy emphasis when belly dancers LOVE what they’ve got for middles, I think I’m going to take a class and not worry about being so curvy, it’s just our culture that says it’s wrong if I lived in the Middle East I’d be a QUEEN, so never mind those tv ab belts, I’m approaching this whole thing from a different angle, about time I took pride in what I have, it wasn’t easy to grow this belly you know, took years!

  66. Anonymous Says:

I would love to get into some shape with ripped abs and a strong core that gives me energy from the ab belts as seen on tv I know the tech is where it needs to be to help me achive my goals.

  67. Kendra Says:

WHAT? Is that really true about Nicole Kidman, what did she do get progressive pregnancy suits??? I’m disgusted. These Hollywood people will just do anything, seems like. We all just wanna konw stomach exercises for women that work!

  68. Oona Says:

OK that is very sweet of you but i saw a pic of Gisele Bundchen in a bikini just 2 mos after giving birth and she looks better than i can ever ikmagine looking. of course celebs have lots of help. but i want an advantage too!
